TOKYO - A magnitude 8.9 earthquake slammed the coast of northern Japan on Friday, triggering a tsunami 13 feet that washed boats, cars, buildings and waste tons of miles inland and caused " nuclear emergency. "
At least 40 people were killed and there were reports of several injuries in Tokyo, hundreds of miles away, where buildings shook violently during the main earthquake and a massive series of aftershocks that followed. via. More pictures and videos after the break...
