All these photographs show the construction of the Empire State Building. It is a 102-story skyscraper in New York City that is located at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. Being 1472 feet (448 metres) tall, this was the tallest building in the world for over 40 years since its completion in 1931. Only in 1972 when the North Tower of the World Trade Center was built, the Empire State Building was deposed as the world’s highest skyscraper. See more images of this building after the break...
